Basic Life Support
(BLS) CPR
The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR for healthcare providers is for healthcare professionals and others who need to learn CPR and basic life support skills for use in prehospital settings.
We offer this class in two formats: Full Course or Blended Course. The Blended Course is a two-step process. First, you'll need to purchase and complete the online knowledge course and exam. Once you have your certificate of completion, you can schedule an in-person Skills Session with our instructor, where you'll practice your hands-on skills.
Cost: Full Course - $65.00, Blended Skills Session - $31.00 (+ online course cost)
Duration: Full Course - 2.5 hours, Blended Skills Session - 2 hours
Format: Classroom with hands-on practice, or Blended class with online knowledge portion & separate Skills Session with instructor
Prerequisites: Blended class requires online portion to be completed before Skills Session with instructor
Certification: 2-Year American Heart Association (AHA) BLS CPR certification
We will cover:
CPR Techniques: You will learn the steps for performing CPR on adults, children, and infants.
AHA Chain of Survival: We’ll discuss key steps to increase survival in cardiac emergencies: early recognition, CPR, defibrillation, advanced care, and post-arrest support.
Effection Ventilations: You’ll practice rescue breathing using barrier devices.
Multirescuer CPR: You will see the importance of teams in multirescuer resuscitation and why it is crucial for each member to perform their role confidently.
Choking Relief: You’ll practice techniques for assisting choking victims across different age groups.
